Are you kidding me ... that level of performance and actually not that horrible to look at? Choose the right spec (it favors the darker colors but I would have to see it in person) and you get this:

Just crazy how an American supercar can look that good for that price tag

And just wait until they come off lease, or get to the used car market!

I’m pretty sure the convertible looks better with the roof off than the normal car.

I worry they are going to be aggressive on pricing the options.
Just a “what if” for now, but what if that configuration you show turns out to be $75k-$80k would you feel the same way about it?

Frankly I’ve seen fewer people complaining about it than I have people complaining about the people complaining about it

Yes ... here are the performance comparisons:
Lambo Huracan: $ 250K+ MSRP
New 911: $ 100K (probably higher)
Audi R8: $ 170K
Ferrari 488: $260K
Heck even if you look at it as a fun weekend car the US carmakers have a pricing problem ... look at a comparable Mustang, Camaro, Challenger. You’re talking the same money for the up-market models and none of the mid-engine glory.
Plus what you see in my picture is gently optioned - no fancy performance add-ons just nice paint, wheels and the upgrade interior.

Oh I agree, just feeling out how high it could go before it gets too expensive, whatever that number is.
That color could easily be a $1000 option and the wheel fini sh $1500 more. In the C7 you have to get the 2LT to get colored seats like that, which is a $2k-$3k increase over the 1LT. And the specific leather color could be $400-$500 more. If they add 10%-15% increase in option prices, that could be getting to $70k for that model without Z51.
Im the Corvette fan that wants a manual though, so I’m keeping an eye on C7s.

It's not a bad car if you get the Duramax engine option.

I was going to laugh, but then I got confused, so I’m just complaining about your post now.

I already plan to do such things....
For at least a 2021 MY....

Even at $70k though, that’s still a relative bargain for the company they are trying to keep with this new layout.
I too would still go for a C7 or older, just for the manual option and ease of later maintenance for a long term car. I’m not the type to drop it at the dealer for services, so I would imagine the new layout will require a bit more fiddling to work on.
For most corvette owners that don’t put on the miles, it won’t matter, you’ll never have a “major” service during their ownership, just oil changes and tires. Maybe brake pads.... maybe the C8 won’t be too bad for service?

I just hope these stay at normal Corvette level of sales 34k to 18k. That way it does come down in price and not increase.
If it stays around 5k-10k, I have a feeling that unless you find one with a million miles its going to be expensive

Stop your whining, dammit. Complaining about people complaining about people complaining about the new Duramax Corvette. Don’t you have anything better to do?
